A couple of years ago, when I lived in Northern California, I made a trip to Carmel and Big Sur with my then-girlfriend Nicole. As we drove down Ocean Ave, I remember hearing the news on NPR that Ronald Reagan had just died.
Now, as most anyone reading this blog surely knows, Nicole and I are engaged. We're in Carmel again, this time for a family reunion. And today I read that Gerald Ford has passed away.
Looks like I'd better stay away from Carmel if I want to keep Jimmy Carter around.
